Teachers Make a Difference: Suzanne Havens

Mrs. Havens has been working in Sugar-Salem since 2010. Prior to her coming to Sugar-Salem, she worked as an elementary teacher in Utah. She began working at Sugar-Salem as a Special Education teacher at Central Elementary School. Then due to the need for an additional teacher at SSHS, she willingly went there to help in that department. She thought about retiring in the summer of 2023; however, she decided she needed a change and took the opening at Kershaw Intermediate school. Mrs. Havens has a compassionate heart and cares deeply for those students she works with. We are very grateful to have her as a part of our Sugar-Salem Educational Community. You make a difference.
Here are some student descriptions of Mrs. Havens:
“She gives me great advice on how to do 95% RAP. She is super smart and nice.”
Another said, “She doesn’t get grumpy; she tells us to do our work. If we do our work, we then get free time when we are done. She is funny!”
“I like the computers in 95% RAP. She helps us work hard in learning the reading stuff.”
Our final student said, “She is the best and sweet! She always helps me when I get stuck.”
