Partners Who Have a Positive Influence: Shannon Hill
Mrs. Shannon Hill has been employed with Sugar-Salem School district for 14 years with the last ten as a Paraprofessional at the high school. She has worked with many different students, and she loves each and every one of them. Mrs. Annette Fullmer works with Mrs. Hill daily and shared the following:
In the 4 years that I have worked closely with Shannon, I have observed many amazing qualities in her. She comes to work on time every day. She rarely misses work. When Shannon is at work she is “present” with her student. She actively engages in helping her student learn and have positive experiences at school, as well as all the students in the classroom. Shannon is always happy and enjoyable to be around. She builds everyone up and does it sincerely. She consistently gives of herself and goes above and beyond expectations. When she notices a student that is struggling or needs help in any way, she offers help, advice, input, and kindness. Shannon is not judgmental and rarely participates in gossip or drama. Last spring, Shannon helped me plan and participate in the Best Buddies Prom that we held with Madison High School. I would not have been able to offer this opportunity to our students without the help and support I received from Shannon. When I asked her if she would be willing to help with this event, she did not hesitate to say yes. She attended every planning meeting, arranged for and worked with the Peer Mentors that attended this event with our students. She also went to the event, on her own time without asking for extra compensation. Our students had the most amazing time at this dance.
We truly appreciate the time and dedication of Mrs. Shannon Hill and gratefully nominate her as the Sugar-Salem High School outstanding partner.
Sincerely,
Karl Gehmlich
